MISSION STATEMENT

We serve our employees, our customers, our community and our shareholders by producing quality crushed stone with quality service.

This commitment to quality permeates all aspects of our company. We must:

1. Treat our employees with dignity and respect. They are our most precious resource.

2. Provide our customers the quality materials that are basic to their success.

3. Work with our neighbors and the entire Cecil County Community to make all of our lives just a little bit better.

4. Give our shareholders a fair return on their investment.

We take pride in our work. Our ultimate satisfaction comes from knowing that we are an integral part of the lives of many people.

Our neighbors, our customers and our vendors are also our friends.

Maryland Materials is pleased to announce that several of our employees will reach important milestones with our company this year.

On July 6th, Vice President of Mardel Trucking Company Norris Abrams will report to work at our location for the 46th year. Norris began as a laborer at MMI and worked various jobs until he was asked to head up Mardel in 1969. He enjoys collecting Johnny Lightning cars and spoiling his grandchildren.

We are fortunate to have had Roland Holley (left) and George Kline as members of the MMI family for 39 years.

Holley, our yard foreman, began as a general laborer on June 22, 1970. Now he supervises our loader crew. Roland enjoys hunting whenever the opportunity arises.

Kline was hired on April 20, 1970 as a mechanic’s helper. George is now our shop foreman and is responsible for scheduling all the maintenance on our mobile equipment. In his free time, he enjoys NASCAR.

Marty Kleczynski will celebrate his 31st year as a member of the Mardel Trucking team on May 8, 2009. Marty resides in Denton, Md. where he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and spending afternoons on his boat whenever possible.
